The connection is maintained regardless of the location, regardless of which network the external signal comes from - the registered end devices automatically connect to their own hotspot.

The Oyster® Connect - Outdoor Unit
The highlight is that both an LTE and a dual band WLAN module are installed in the outdoor unit.
Each of these modules has a directly connected antenna system specially tuned for this application, which ensures a greater range and can reach not only the next radio mast but also the one after that if the LTE network is overloaded by too many users.
In the WLAN area, the MIMO system with 4 antennas ensures stable data throughput, both in the 2.4 GHz band and in the 5 GHz band. MIMO is based on the ability to send and receive a data stream via several antennas using intelligent data processing (multiple input multiple output).
The LTE function is based on an ALL-band antenna with diversity technology. It supports all European LTE bands/providers and offers maximum transmission and reception performance without alignment of the antenna.
The information received by the outdoor unit is transmitted loss-free to the indoor unit via a data cable.
Oyster® Connect - indoor unit
The second component of the Oyster® Connect system, the indoor unit, is located in the vehicle interior and serves as a WLAN access point, just as you know it from home. The Indoor Unit is a fully-fledged, private access point with integrated 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi antennas (2x2 MIMO technology). Both bands operate in parallel - so you can connect several mobile devices at the same time, even on different bands, with the highest possible data transfer.
The desired end devices, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops or smart TVs, only need to be connected to the indoor unit once. It also has a LAN connection and can therefore also set up a private wired LAN network.
SIM card/multi SIM card
We recommend the use of a multi SIM card, which can be stored in the card reader in the outdoor unit
- all transmitter and receiver modules and the associated SIM card reader are deliberately located in the Outdoor Unit on the vehicle roof
- this is the best mounting location because there is no attenuation of the signal by the bodywork and thermal insulation glazing
- In addition, no antenna coax cable but a data cable leads into the vehicle interior
- Antenna cables inevitably lead to attenuation (deterioration) of the signal.
